Worthington G. Schenk III, MD, is a 1974-graduate of Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. His postgraduate training includes his general surgery residency served at the same educational venue, Duke University School of Medicine (1974-1979). Dr. Schenk has also completed a research fellowship in trauma surgery at Duke University School of Medicine. He attained board certification in general surgery (1983, 1991) and surgical critical care (1987) with the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Schenk III survived a flying accident in 1984 and, despite serious burns and 24 surgical procedures, he got back int life’s saddle as a surgeon and pilot.
